Stolen Items Poster Series

The backstory.

My Stolen Items poster series was inspired when I was part of an 18-person group pick pocketed in Washington, DC. After my phone was stolen I felt a mix of emotions including anger, frustration, and the desire to spread the word to prevent this from happening to anyone else.

At the time, I was exploring information design. My experience reminded me of lost pet posters I had seen (and heavily critiqued the design of). Keeping this in mind, I set out to make a poster that used humor in order to release my inner frustrations and make light of the situation.

People really related to my frustration and appreciated my humorous tone. Because of this positive feedback, I have since expanded the series to keys and wallets. This project encompasses poster design, information design and content creation. The series shows attention to typographic hierarchy, visual scale, and layout (with a splash of humor).
